Es gibt zwei diamond wire saw systems for extracting raw blocks from quarries:
- diamond wire saw with steel springs;
- diamond wire saw with plastic coating.

Soft stones such as marble, limestone or travertine are sawn with spring-type wire saws, fitted with electroplated or sintered diamond beads.

MSL beads present a positive ratio quality/ price compared to the electro-deposited beads for the squaring and the cut of block starting from a benchetto.
